Today was such a gorgeous day the kids and I took off up the canyon. With no real 'Plan' of attack. As we were driving I asked them if they would want to go to see the falls (that we passed yesterday on our hike) then go up to Tibble Fork Reservoir. I figured it would be a good few hours of fun with them.
So we did just that! Went and parked our car and off we were up the trail to the water falls. I forgot just how long of a 'little' hike that is. haha Nothing in comparison to getting to the top but when you have 3 little cuties tagging along and having to hold them the whole way I noticed just how far it was. and Im pretty sure it was at least a mile and a half or maybe ten :). WHAT TROOPERS!!! I couldn't believe how well West actually did. Im not going to say he was perfect but he made it almost all the way up without complaining. Of course I held Gage 98% of the way, but that is expected. When he did walk though he was great! Could keep up just great. Lys, could use a little more outdoor activity but did fantastic as well and was a good helper with the back pack. I think more than anything it was just the sun beating down on us that caused any turmoil.
But... We pushed ourselves to keep pluggin along (or maybe I did all that) and We made it!!
We had some snacks, some water, took some pictures, talked about how beautiful it was up there and headed back. On the way West was getting tired and his feet were dragging and ended up falling over a rock. Poor little guy. After that was when it got a little tough and tiring.. but again we made it back. And Weston stayed tough.
We went up to Tibble fork, took our shoes off and played in the water for a little bit. I don't know what it is about little boys but I think they could and would have sat there and threw Rocks in the water ALL day long. I'm sure annoying any neighbor we had that was fishing. Lys and I just kept daring each other farther in the COLD water. You know, its really these times with my family that I really just wish I could freeze it. I love being with them. Especially with no stresses of the day or somewhere to be or something I have to do. I'm sure everyone feels much the same.
Until the next adventure.
(I am having trouble uploading pictures as well.. I will try again later)
